512 MB LPDDR4, listed as DRAM cache for the 500 GB model.
The source establishes capacity and memory type. It does not establish a package part number or the detailed operational role of this DRAM. Do not equate it with the separate TurboWrite behaviour.

Overview
The 970 EVO uses three distinct descriptions: M.2 for physical format, PCIe for its interface, and NVMe for its protocol. This reference describes the manufacturer-declared model, not an inspected specimen.

Capacity changes more than storage space
Samsung specifies the 500 GB model with 512MB LPDDR4 and the 1 TB model with 1GB LPDDR4. Listed sequential reads are up to 3,400 and 3,400 MB/s respectively. Sequential writes are up to 2,300 versus 2,500 MB/s with TurboWrite; beyond the TurboWrite region, the listed rates are 600 versus 1,200 MB/s.
Manufacturer specification comparison, not measurements on our hardware. Firmware, host and TurboWrite conditions matter. Datasheet tests use IOmeter 1.1.0, Windows 10 and an Intel Core i7-7700K. Raw source units retained.
Which packages are on a particular production revision?
What exact NAND/DRAM package count, part markings and board positions apply to a particular 500GB production revision?
The reviewed documents establish constituent descriptions and capacities, not revision-specific package counts, markings or positions. Resolve with revision-matched assembly documentation or an attributable teardown with clear image rights. The diagram remains conceptual.
Evidence role: context. Reviewed sources do not establish revision-specific package identity, count or position. This is an evidence gap, not a claim that no such documentation exists.
